Project Description
The home is designed for a young couple with children, who previously lived in an apartment lacking green spaces and natural light. Their primary desire was to prioritize quality of life, with a strong focus on incorporating nature into their daily environment. Although the living area is not expansive, ample space for a garden and a playground for the children were essential features. The design also addresses the need to overcome the stuffiness of apartment living by ensuring all functional spaces receive natural light and ventilation. With the main façade facing East, the house is designed to balance functionality, aesthetics, and climate challenges, particularly the intense sun and heavy rain.
The ground floor is thoughtfully arranged as flexible communication spaces beneath wide eaves, with a large balcony above acting as a linoleum to shield the interior from the harsh sun and rain. The home is accessed through spacious, cushioned halls, creating a relaxing retreat from the direct sunlight. A two-layer wall system on the East and West sides includes a thick wall layer and a sliding glass door layer, with an open space between the two for tree planting and air circulation. This design not only blocks intense sunlight but also promotes natural ventilation, ensuring privacy for the family. The architecture of the house is independent of its surroundings, creating a self-contained landscape that fosters a harmonious connection between the family and nature, offering enriching experiences throughout the day.
