Cube House
Project Description
The Cube House, located on the tranquil outskirts of Ahmedabad, embraces its serene surroundings with a design that seamlessly integrates built form and nature. Nestled within a 9,000 sq. ft. corner property, the residence unfolds across three levels, featuring a dynamic arrangement of cubes and cantilevered volumes that shape both private and semi-private spaces. Positioned on the western side of the plot, the structure maximizes its engagement with the eastern garden, allowing uninterrupted views and abundant natural light.
The entrance, marked by a striking double-height cantilevered porch with a warm wooden ceiling, leads to a thoughtfully designed interior. The living and dining areas open to the lush outdoors, with expansive fenestrations ensuring a seamless indoor-outdoor connection. A centrally placed U-shaped staircase acts as both a sculptural element and a buffer against harsh sunlight, while also forming an internal courtyard filled with dappled natural light. The first floor houses private retreats, including bedrooms and a family lounge, with the master suite featuring a semi-covered veranda overlooking the garden. Balancing raw concrete, warm wood, and soft pastels, the home offers a refined yet inviting ambiance, creating an elegant sanctuary immersed in nature.
