Project Description
Nestled in the heart of a bustling metropolis, this residence offers a serene escape from urban chaos. Set in a densely populated area, the design aims to create an intimate retreat while presenting a visually engaging structure amidst its crowded surroundings. The home follows an open-plan layout centered around two landscaped courtyards, ensuring a seamless flow of spaces and connectivity across its three floors. Designed for a family of five, the Vaastu-compliant home includes a parking area, formal and informal living spaces, an open kitchen and dining area, five bedrooms, a study, and a semi-open terrace with a kitchenette.
The courtyards, fitted with skylights, fill the interiors with natural light and tranquility, enhancing the indoor-outdoor connection. Visitors are greeted by a striking entrance featuring a 4-inch thick Sadahalli stone slab bridge over a Koi pond, leading to large granite steps. A dramatic screen wall, constructed with cantilevered Sadahalli slabs, reinterprets traditional load-bearing systems. Expanses of clear glass in the living areas reinforce the connection to the outdoors, while the central dining space, flanked by courtyards, creates a peaceful, open ambiance. This residence masterfully balances simplicity, spaciousness, and urban privacy, providing a calm refuge for its residents.
