Located on a north-facing site in Hospet, Karnataka, this home is conceptualized as a series of interconnected volumes, each contributing to a fluid and dynamic living experience. The design is inspired by an animated section that varies along the length of the house, with changing roof profiles that create an interplay of volumes and spaces inside. This approach ensures that every space within the home offers a unique sensory experience.

To combat the harsh climate of Hospet, the home is strategically oriented to block the intense afternoon sun from the West and South, while opening up towards the more temperate garden areas in the North and East. The traditional open-to-sky courtyard is reimagined as a ‘Landscape platform,’ featuring an operable skylight that enhances the home’s functionality. The motorized glazing allows hot air to escape during the day, promoting natural cooling. Inside, muted finishes envelop the architectural shell, accentuating the geometry of the spaces and adding warmth, creating a balanced and comfortable living environment that harmonizes with its surroundings.
