Project Description
This cozy house is designed for a three-generation family on a limited plot of land. The primary focus of the project was to create a family space that fosters closeness while still ensuring privacy for each member. The house not only provides fully equipped accommodations but also offers a unique experience through its interplay of spaces and natural elements, such as the rhythm of light and a journey of wind flowing through the house.
Given the southwest orientation of the house, a wooden sun louvre system was introduced on the front elevation to protect from the harsh sunlight, while still allowing for open ceiling glass doors to maximize the connection between the interior and the outdoors. The ground floor features an open-plan living room and kitchen, which serves as a central space that intersects with private areas. A ventilation corridor runs along the boundary, complemented by voids to create a sense of spaciousness and enhance natural daylight. The use of rustic materials, especially wood, adds a charming yet elegant touch, connecting the house back to nature. The design reflects a mindful approach to maintaining harmony with its specific surroundings and tropical climate.
