This renovation project focuses on revitalizing a 15-year-old house, carefully preserving its original structure while adding functionality to meet the owner's current needs. After a thorough inspection, the decision was made to retain and enhance the useful elements of the old house, minimizing major alterations. A key intervention was the addition of a second floor, which also serves as a combined terrace, creating a spacious and functional area without requiring extensive structural changes or renovation permits.

The design addresses the limitations of the original structure, such as the low ceiling in the entre-sol, by adjusting its height to create a more open and dynamic flow. The house's ample width allows for a continuous vertical structure that harmonizes with the existing spaces. To enhance the connection between indoors and outdoors, the skylight was expanded, allowing natural light to flood the hallway, buffer space, and bedrooms. This integration of nature into the home brings a refreshing balance, enhancing the daily living experience and ensuring that the space remains both functional and invigorating for the family.
