Project Description
This expansive residence, built on a vast 1900 sq yard plot, revives the concept of the joint family home, emphasizing the importance of family time and relationships. Designed to bring multiple generations together while offering each member their own space, the home balances rustic elements with luxury, spacious interiors, neutral palettes, and abundant natural light. A lush landscape and a central water body greet visitors upon entering, playing a pivotal role in the home's design. The challenge of the long, linear plot was met with a thoughtful layout, creating separate yet connected living spaces for family members.
The first quarter of the plot is dedicated to an independent studio apartment for the parents, offering them their own private retreat. The upper floor features identical rooms for the sons, connected to the main house via a bridge that overlooks the main lawn and water body—an engaging architectural feature. Across the lawn, the brothers and their family reside in the main house, where a semi-formal living room with a bar opens onto the expansive lawn. The indoor courtyard separates this space from the formal dining room, ensuring a seamless flow of space with views to the outdoors from nearly every corner. The living room, with its projector system, doubles as a social hub for the family, transforming the lawn’s wall into a large screen for parties and IPL season, visible from various points throughout the home, including the connecting bridge.
